Il Consiglio dei ministri su proposta del Ministro dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo Dario Franceschini, a norma dell’articolo 4 della legge 13 febbraio 2020, n. 15, ha deliberato l’assegnazione del titolo di Capitale italiana del libro per l’anno 2020 alla città di Chiari (BS).
“Questo riconoscimento – ha concluso il ministro – arriva in un anno particolare e in un territorio fortemente colpito dalla pandemia in cui, ora più che mai, è giusto rafforzare il sostegno al settore del libro. Nei mesi più duri del lock-down, Chiari ha trovato proprio nella lettura, compiuta attraverso i canali social dell’amministrazione, uno degli strumenti per sostenere la comunità. Ora questa esperienza può diventare un modello“.

In 1997, the new Labour government made a commitment to reinstate free entry for national museums in order to have a more diverse range of visitors. “Following a campaign led by the museums themselves,
The national museums which dropped charges all saw substantial increases to their visitor numbers, an average of 70 percent. In the first year after free admission was introduced visitor figures.
